SVC is one of 3 community colleges in Washington state that offers an employment-based certificate program for students with intellectual disabilities. The INVEST program supports students with intellectual disabilities to access to higher education and a potential pathway to employment. The program provides integrated opportunities that include postsecondary education and training, academic enrichment, inclusive socialization and recreation, assistive technology, self-advocacy, independent living skill development, career exploration, integrated work experiences, and ultimately, gainful employment that matches each student's interests and unique abilities.This position works closely with school district staff to ensure support for INVEST students on Individualized Education Programs (IEP) are in compliance with state and federal regulations. The position will work closely with the INVEST Faculty Lead and Navigators. The position reports to the Director of the INVEST Program. This position is contingent upon funding.This is a 10-month (benefits-eligible), full-time exempt position, working 40 hours per week on the Mount Vernon Campus. Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as Special Education Liaison with School District Special Education staff in defining IEP goals consistent with INVEST programming;
- Design, monitor and ensure delivery of specially designed instruction;
- Document progress towards goals in concurrence with the sending district's IEP;
- Complete documentation requirements for co-enrolled SVC/School District students;
- Communicate with the INVEST Faculty Lead, Navigators, School District personnel, SVC faculty, the SVC Disabilities Support Office, community partners and other professional staff individual student progress, attitude, health, and learning challenges;
- Develop IEPs and schedule IEP meetings in cooperation with school district staff;
- Evaluate and document student performance growth on goals and content areas; keep accurate and complete records as required by law, district, policy, and administrative regulation; prepare progress reports;
- Assist students with transition from INVEST to further post-secondary training and /or employment;
- Attend IEP meetings;
- Work with division faculty and staff to develop and assess pathways of success for students;
- Attend division meetings and participate in division work;
- Participate in professional development;
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Adult Education, or related field;
- Washington State Special Education Endorsement.

Salary, Benefits, Conditions of Employment, Application Procedure Salary and Benefits:
- Annualized salary rate is $70,000. The salary rate for this ten-month, 100% full-time position is $58,333.
- Contracts are written annually for the period of July 1 to June 30. This position will be filled as soon practical after a candidate is identified and the salary will be pro-rated for the remaining contract period.
- This position is exempt from civil service. This position is eligible for overtime.
