Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet students' unique needs.
  • Provide direct instruction and intervention to students with learning disabilities in both individual and small group settings.
  • Design and implement research-based strategies and accommodations to support students' academic progress and social-emotional development.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure the successful implementation of IEPs and accommodations in the general education setting.
  • Monitor students' progress regularly, collect data, and make data-driven instructional decisions to guide interventions and modifications.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress, services provided, and communication with parents and stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about current research and best practices in the field of learning disabilities and special education.
  • Advocate for students with learning disabilities, ensuring their needs are understood and met by all stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Special Education preferred.
  • New Jersey Department of Education SPED certification.
  • Strong knowledge of learning disabilities, assessment tools, and evidence-based interventions.
  • Familiarity with the IEP process and developing appropriate accommodations and modifications.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student success.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Passion for working with students with learning disabilities and a commitment to inclusive education.
