Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet students' unique needs.
- Provide direct instruction and intervention to students with learning disabilities in both individual and small group settings.
- Design and implement research-based strategies and accommodations to support students' academic progress and social-emotional development.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure the successful implementation of IEPs and accommodations in the general education setting.
- Monitor students' progress regularly, collect data, and make data-driven instructional decisions to guide interventions and modifications.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress, services provided, and communication with parents and stakeholders.
- Stay informed about current research and best practices in the field of learning disabilities and special education.
- Advocate for students with learning disabilities, ensuring their needs are understood and met by all stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Special Education preferred.
- New Jersey Department of Education SPED certification.
- Strong knowledge of learning disabilities, assessment tools, and evidence-based interventions.
- Familiarity with the IEP process and developing appropriate accommodations and modifications.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student success.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
