Job Description:
Chichester School District is looking for a High School Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2024-2025 School Year!Make an Impact with Chichester.We are looking for a candidate who will take pride in their work,providing a SAFE, FUN learning environment for our students. The ideal candidate will provide support to students needing additional assistance in meeting academic standards, through small group, individual and co-instructional methods.The Special Education Teacher, or Special Needs Educator, is responsible for providing the appropriate accommodations and modifications to the set curriculum for their students. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
  • Bachelors degree required, Master's degree preferred
  • Valid PA Special Education K-12 Instructional I or II certificate.
  • Prior classroom teaching experience required, prior Special Education experience highly preferred
WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR US: can include the following, other duties may be assigned
  • Teach a small group of students and individuals inside of the classroom
  • Prepare and execute lessons and resources
  • Assess the students' work done in class
  • Develop and adapt individualized teaching methods that are suitable for each of student
  • Use special tools and equipment provided to stimulate an interesting learning environment
  • Use special skills to teach children Braille, sign language or lip reading when needed
  • Collaborate with the all other Building Teachers and Lead Teacher to build a better learning environment for the children
  • Update parents on their kids' progress and give recommendations to promote a better learning environment at home
Division: CEA Location: Chichester High SchoolReports to: PrincipalSalary Level: According to CEA salary scale. Starting $52,632.00/yearIf you are offered a position with Chichester School District, please be advised that the following information will be required before you are able to begin working:
  • State Police Clearance (Act 34) - complete online and print your results immediately
  • Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151) - effective 12/31/14, submit electronically
  • FBI Fingerprints (Act 114) - register & pay online, then go to the fingerprint location of your choice to be printed
  • School Health Record - includes physical & tb test from within a year
  • Act 24 (PDE Form 6004) - Arrest/Conviction Report
  • PA Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release -A separate form must be completed for: Current employer; and All former employers that were school entities; and All former employers where you were in a position that involved direct contact with children.
