The Theresa Paplin School is a non-diploma bound, New York State certified special education school that serves adolescents and young adults who are dually diagnosed with a serious emotional disturbance as well as a developmental disability.SCO Family of Services welcomes you to join our family and help us work together to carry out our mission to build a stronger tomorrow.Evaluate educational needs of students and modify course curriculum as needed. Prepares class lessons appropriate to current school assignment and the needs of the students in assigned classes. Provides direct instruction to students.Prepare Curriculum updates as needed Attends regularly scheduled faculty meetings. Serves as a member of professional committees formed to address school issues. Serves as a member of the Committee on Special Education upon invitation. Evaluates student progress on a regular basis. Prepare Report Cards for each student. Prepares student progress reports. Prepares Goals and Objectives for student's IEP. Implement program to carry out student's IEP. Supervises all students in class. Responsible for the overall classroom management and environment. Responsible for completing the following reports when necessary; Informationals, Behaviorals and Incident Reports. Responsible to attend meetings involving their students when necessary. Assist classroom aide in completing point sheets. Responsible to monitor classroom aide, and assign responsibilities relating to their classroom Performs all duties as assigned.Qualifications - External N.Y.S. Teaching Certification 7-12 preferred N.Y.S. Certification in Special Education (preferred but not required) College Degree Acceptable clearance checks for State Central Register, Driver license and fingerprinting as required by the program. Compliance with health regulations for physical/mantoux testing. Attending TCI class for certification/re-certification and passing a test upon completion of course is a minimum requirement for employment (provided)SCO Family of Services is an equal opportunity employer
