Special Education Teacher NeededFull time position in Middle Village, Queens Responsibilities:
- To prepare Individualized Education Plans ('EPs), and/or individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) and Progress Reports for each child in your assigned group.
- To prepare appropriate curricula for each child IEP and/or IFSP.
- To prepare of weekly lesson plans reflecting IEP and/or IFSP goals and alignment with NYS Common Core Standards.
- To participate in education conferences with other members of the interdisciplinary team.
- To participate in IEP/IFSP meetings.
- To participate in general staff meetings, when appropriate.
- To meet with parents as necessary and incorporate parents in classroom activities for children.
- To participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
- To maintain assigned classroom in an orderly and clean appearance and organize your assigned classroom to maximize is conduciveness as a learning and growth environment for assigned students.
- To supervise Teacher Assistants, Interns and Student Teachers.
- To perform your responsibilities as they currently exist or may change in meeting the needs of the department under the supervision of your supervisor.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Master's degree in Special Education
- New York State Early Childhood B-2 Students with Disabilities or New York State Special Education Certification
- Experience as an Early Intervention/Preschool Special Ed Teacher
- ABA experience a plus
- Teletherapy experience a plus
