Many People... One Strong Community... Join Our Growing Team!Mozaic (a chapter of The Arc) is hiring a Special Education Teacher for Keuka Lake School!Special Education Teacher Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for utilizing each child's Individual Education Plan (IEP) to provide a quality learning environment for every child
- Responsible for instruction of preschool-aged children (with and without disabilities) in developmental cognitive language, gross and fine motor skills, and behavior management skills.
- Responsible for creating and implementing lesson plans, procedures, and activities for the class.
- Responsible for the health and safety of the children while in the school's care.
- Properly use adaptive equipment and therapeutic behavioral plans created or given by the child's clinicians
- Establish and maintain and professional relationship with the parents/guardians and answer any questions they may have.
- Coordinates all team members to develop IEP goals, updates, and progress reports for each child.
- Facilitates weekly classroom planning meetings to share information, plan programming, adjust goals and discuss progress/concerns regarding children.
Are you qualified?
- Bachelor's degree of Science in Early Childhood and/or Special Education from an accredited New York State College
- Ability to be cleared through all background checks and the Statewide Central Registry.
- Must complete at least 30 hours of training every two years as required by NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS)
- Basic computer knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with staff and students in a positive manner
- Current Initial certification or higher
Additional Requirements for Special Education TeachersObtain a Master's degree and permanent certification in a related field within 5 years (if not already obtained).Schedule: 8 am - 4 pm or 7 am - 3:30 pm 37.5 hours per weekBenefit Package Includes:
