Located in the vibrant community of Zion, IL, this position offers the opportunity to work in a supportive and inclusive environment where you can help students achieve their full potential.Position OverviewWe are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic educator for our Resource Room (Grades 3-4). In this role, you will work closely with students who have a variety of learning needs, helping them to thrive academically and socially. You will be responsible for designing and delivering individualized instruction, creating an inclusive classroom atmosphere, and collaborating with other educators to support each student's development.Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students in grades 3-4.
- Provide direct instruction in the resource room setting, focusing on academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure a seamless integration of students in mainstream classrooms.
- Assess student progress and modify instructional strategies as needed to meet their needs.
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel safe, valued, and motivated.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress, and communicate regularly with families and other team members.
- Actively participate in IEP meetings and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
- LBS1 Certification (Learning Behavior Specialist 1)
- PEL Certification (Professional Educator License)
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
- Experience working with students in grades 3-4 is preferred, but not required.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and outside agencies.
