General Information/Duties:
- Plan, deliver, and assess instruction consistent with district curriculum
- Provide a variety of learning methods and resources to engage students in educational activities and lessons
- Develop and implement student Individual Education Plans and coordinate transition services
- Work cooperatively with regular and special education teachers, LISD personnel, governmental and other service agencies.
- Plan for and supervise teacher assistants for students in the general education classrooms.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate student outcomes through informal and formative assessments
- Effectively and consistently communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and the community
- Be a team player; working with other members to improve techniques, relations with the community, and school environment
- Committed to continuous improvement through training and the use of technology.
- Participate in district-wide professional development
- Perform other duties consistent within the scope of the position
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Special Education
- Current & appropriate Michigan certification
- Demonstrated skills in the use of technology
- Ability and willingness to work in a team setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of the academic, social, and emotional needs of the high school age student is required.
