Job Summary and QualificationsSeeking a Special Procedures Technologist for our practice who provides clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care. The Special Procedures Tech is responsible for operating medical diagnostic imaging equipment such as computer tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners and assisting in imaging procedures such as angiography and cardiac catheterization.
What you will do in this role:
You will scrub in and assist the physician in the diagnostic or interventional procedure.
You will prep and circulate within the procedure room and procure all equipment needed for given procedure.
You will assess the patient for factors that may indicate or contraindicate the procedure, such as medications, insufficient patient preparation or artifacts.
You will verify clinical information according to departmental policies (Red Rules, Time out).
You will demonstrate a thorough understanding and working knowledge of normal anatomy, abnormal anatomy, and physiology, radiation safety, interventional supplies and equipment operation.
You will recognize and resolve equipment operations, problems, and discrepancies, anticipate patient needs and concerns and determine the appropriate care needed.
You will administer intravascular contrast media and medication according to protocol.
You will document diagnostic and interventional treatment and patient data in the appropriate records. Documentation will be timely, accurate, concise and complete.
What qualifications you will need:
Graduate of Accredited AMA Program with Certificate or Degree in Radiology
ARRT Registered or ARRT Registry eligible or credentialed by RCIS
A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required
1-3 years of experience, preferred
