We especially encourage women, people of color, members of the LGBTQ+ community, veterans, and people with disabilities to apply.Position Title Special Professor of Biology Position Number 896432 School/Division Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences-Natural Science DepartmentFull-Time or Part-Time Full-Time Description Hofstra University's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is pleased to invite applications for a full-time Special Professor faculty position (Assistant/Associate) in the Department of Biology to teach introductory biology and microbiology courses (general or medical microbiology) for the 2024-2025 academic year. The new faculty member will collaborate with other instructors in reviewing, improving, and maintaining the curriculum for these courses and must be available for weekly instructors' meetings. They must provide one office hour per week for every three contact hours assigned and be available for students. Teaching load is a minimum of 9 contact hours per semester; The position is a full-time temporary teaching position within the Department and not an adjunct position.Preferred candidates will have a broad background in biology and considerable experience teaching introductory biology and microbiology lecture and laboratory courses to majors. Priority will be given to those with experience teaching microbiology. Applicants must have a PhD in a relevant discipline of biology or related field.
