Job Summary
The Special Program Aid, under the supervision, will assist project members (principal investigator, co-principal investigators, senior personnel; PI/Co-PIs/SPs) of the TAMIU USTEM project with general administrative and technical assistance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Provide clerical support to PI/Co-PIs/SPs and use sound, independent judgment when performing duties.
* Assist in organizing and maintaining records, datasets, and information.
* Develop and maintain professional relationships with PI/Co-PIs/SPs.
* Keep calendars and reports related to the project.
* Meet regularly with PI/Co-PIs/SPs for meetings, training, and/or workshops.
* Liaise with other university offices and university personnel with respect to project activities and needs

Additional Responsibilities
In tandem with the project undergraduate research assistant (URA):
* Assist PI/Co-PIs/SPs members to create, document, and store IRB materials to streamline research compliance processes.
* Assist in analyzing and curating project information, data, and statistics.
* Assist PI/Co-PIs/SPs in preparing tables, graphs, and materials for research and programmatic presentations and talks.
* Search research grant opportunities and assist in the identification and application for funding.
Minimum Requirements
* Education - Bachelor's degree
* Experience - No experience needed.
* May not be a currently enrolled undergraduate student at Texas A&M International University.
Preferred Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in a STEM major.
* Some experience in research or apprenticeship.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
* Word processing, spreadsheet, statistics and data analysis (e.g., descriptive statistics, analysis of variance), and database applications.
Ability to:
* Multitask and work cooperatively with others.
* Verbal and written communication skills.

* Position requires keeping a work schedule of 19 hours per week.

Pay of Rate: $14.43/hour for up to 19 hours weekly
