Job Description: General Statement of Duties: The Special Program Coordinator (Sims Medical Center Lab Coordinator) is responsible for the general support of healthcare simulation technology used by staff and faculty at the college. The Sims Medical Center Lab Coordinator will coordinate with IT and Media Services around the configuration and deployment of hardware and software and keeping track of scheduled maintenance and service agreements with vendors as well as planning for maintenance and repair windows for all simulation equipment in our laboratories.. The Sims Medical Center Lab Coordinator is a staff position which involves collaboration and assistance to with faculty from across the college who teach courses that require practice with all levels of simulated clinical experiences .The Sims Medical Center Lab Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the simulation supply inventory, working with the Dean on annual budgeted supply requests, creating and updating Sim Center policies and procedures, creating and providing Sim Center orientation to staff and students. The Sims Medical Center Lab Coordinator is responsible for maintaining an equitable lab schedule for all programs that request to use it. The Sims Medical Center Lab Coordinator will also work with course faculty to help facilitate the College's INASCL Healthcare Simulation Standards Endorsement. Responsibilities:
- Schedule simulation activities, labs and resources. Manage calendar bookings for SimLab I (H252) and SimLab II (H283) use, and coordinate with the clinical coordinator the scheduling of all simulation lab activities each semester.
- Coordinate with course faculty to plan, design, develop and implement simulations for all nursing programs.
- Along with new and maintain MWCC Simulation Patient case scenarios and setup guidance. Assist course faculty to helping match learning objectives to the appropriate level of fidelity for the simulation.
- Create and prepare all medications and medication labels with bar codes for medication administration with MWCC Sims Patients. Keep all medications up to date.
- Stock and maintain patient and patient medication information in all MedDispense Automated Dispending Cabinets, Long term Care Carts and WOW's.
- Maintain MWCC patients and medication orders information in ATI EHR TUTOR.
- Provide equipment setup and breakdown including setting up patient simulators, task trainers, hospital equipment and supplies for labs and simulations with faculty based on needs/requirements, Program and operate simulation equipment and patient simulators proprietary software (on the fly or using a preprogrammed scenario) to control all of the physiological changes required during a simulation activity and, anticipated interventions based on the scenario.
- Prepare and apply moulage (simulated injuries, wounds, bruising) to simulators for simulation and skills.
- Lead and assist with technology support and simulation best-practice training for faculty. Orient faculty to all fidelity simulators and simulation medical/lab equipment.
- Provide simulation orientation/training for nursing students and orient students to the lab equipment policies and procedures.
- Develop Sim Lab instructional resource materials, maintain and update simulation lab policies and procedures.
- Oversee upkeep, maintenance and repair of all simulators and simulation equipment to include communicating and organizing support from MWCC IT and Media as well as outside vendors specific to proprietary tech support. Necessary maintenance can be as simple as a regular cleaning and replacement of disposable parts, or as complex as tracking down software, networking or electrical issue.
- Utilize and maintain all simulation lab medical equipment such as hospital beds, IV pumps, feeding pumps, ventilators, defibrillators, SCD's and AED's.
- Manage and maintain all Simulation Technology (desktops, laptops, mobile devices) with warranty guidelines. Implement all new simulation technology.
- Manage and maintain all Simulation Software (operating systems, applications, simulator software) Implement all new simulation software.
- Maintain inventory management and ordering of consumable supplies and assets. Source, order and maintain inventory of all supply needs/requests and equipment during the semester and year for complete yearly nursing order on July 1 (FY). To include all replacement parts, repairs, preventive maintenance of simulators and equipment. IV pumps, beds, software technology etc.
- Request vendor quotes, generate internal purchase order, gather signatures, process IPR's and Quotes through the business office. Follow up all goods received, returned, stocked and stored.
- Research, source products, purchase, and implement new technologies, simulators, and task trainers for each FY as well as requests for input on all nursing related grants, recommend and source products, submit quote request to vendors.
- Independently manage the simulator technology investment component of all grant submissions and awards, including implementation when applicable.
- Conduct simulation lab tours for visitor groups and individuals as requested based on time and availability of the space.
- Provide input into budget projections for upcoming initiatives and monitor cost control.

Requirements: Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Business Administration, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other field related to area of assignment (Health Related Field);
- Three (3) years experience and/or training involving area of assignment (Health Related Field) or
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to work in a team setting.
- Ability to give written and oral instructions in a precise, understandable manner.
Desired Qualifications:
- College Level teaching experience, lab supervision or other related field experience equivalent to one year full time;
- Licensure as an LPN or RN in good standing with the MBORN;
- Master's degree in health-related field or progress toward that goal;
- Experience in and commitment to the mission of the community colleges

Additional Information: Campus Title: SIMS Medical Center Lab Coordinator Salary: $60,730.00-$103,513.00 **** Actual Salary determined by education, experience, and any applicable grant limitations per the collective bargaining agreement.
