Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the SWIC Educational Employee, part-time, grant-funded position of Special Projects Coordinator - Adult Education Transitions.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
In accordance with the Mission and Values of SouthwesternIllinois College, the Special Projects Coordinator for Adult Education Transitions provides leadership to the Adult Education Department in helping its high school equivalency graduates and upper-level English Language Acquisition students' transition into Southwestern Illinois College. The Coordinator identifies students for possible transition, assists them with the college enrollment processes and monitors them during their enrollment. The Coordinator needs a good knowledge of the adult education student and courses, the college enrollment procedures and the academic program requirements. The Coordinator must interact well with students, instructors and department staff. The position requires flexible work hours including day, evening and possibly some weekend hours. This is a part-time, twelve-month position, up to 30 hours per week that is grant-funded.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree in education, social work, or related field.
* Demonstrated ability in communicating and working with at risk and hard-to-serve populations required.
* Previous instruction in adult education preferred.
* Background in computers preferred.
STARTING SALARY
$24.75 per hour, up to 30 hours per week
