Position: Specialist, Central ReceivingPRIMARY PURPOSE: Responsible for the supervision of the district warehouse and the receiving, record maintenance and prompt shipping of textbooks, materials, supplies and mail for all district facilities. QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Certification:
- GED/High School Diploma, preferred
- Valid Texas Driver's License; must be insurable by district's insurance carrier
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Demonstrated organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and comprehend guidelines, manuals and publications
- Ability to train staff on assigned responsibilities
- Ability to operate district wide computer system
- Ability to supervise staff as assigned
Experience:
- Three years experience in a warehouse related work environment preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Assist the Supervisor in the district wide warehouse and staff as assigned. Assist in Supervising receipt of district wide materials and supplies ordered and the verification of the accuracy of the shipment with the information on the invoice slips, shipping documents or purchase orders. Coordinate and process receiving documents for accounts payable office. Prepare and coordinate new accounts as requested. Unpack all items received by the district, inspect for damage and defects and record all discrepancies or damage. Control input of requisitions for materials, supplies and equipment for all maintenance staff. Responsible for accurate inventory and deliveries of materials, supplies and equipment to all district facilities. Assist with the supervision of all scheduling for district wide deliveries. Maintain a clean, safe and well organized facility and work environment. Perform all other duties as assigned. SUPERVISES: Warehouse Worker/Driver and Warehouse/Driver/Receiver Clerk EQUIPMENT USED: Forklift, dollies, pallet jacks, motor vehicle and extensive use of computer, copier and district wide communication systems. MENTAL & PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:Posture: Frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting. Motion: walking, climbing stairs/ladders, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, and overhead reaching. Lifting: Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over) on a daily basis. Environment: Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dampness, humidity, and dust; occasional exposure to dangerous chemicals; work around machinery with moving parts, moving objects and vehicles. Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress, reading, writing and understanding written and verbal instructions. Salary Information: 12 Months, 250 Duty Days, Manual Trades PG 3 Minimum: $14.10/hr Midpoint: $16.94/hr
