Specialist, Guest Experience (PT/Seasonal) CINCINNATI MUSEUM CENTER Reports to: Guest Experience Manager Department: Guest Experience FLSA Status: Part-time Seasonal/Non-exempt hourly Employment from November 4, 2024 - January 20, 2025 (closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day) Compensation: $15.00/hour Date: 9/10/24 Position Overview: If you have ever visited Union Terminal, (aka, the most magical place in Cincinnati for the holiday season), especially during the holidays, and seen the smiling faces as you enter the building, the feeling in the air of the holiday spirit, and the sheer energy of our guests, THIS COULD BE THE PT JOB FOR YOU! We are looking for (PT) seasonal, happy, holiday staff to work at the Cincinnati Museum Center (CMC) as ticket takers for each museum, parking attendants in our two large lots, greeters helping excited guests way find, and self-serve aides for those who wish to go it on their own and purchase their tickets at the kiosks we have in the rotunda. Our Specialists are like elves and provide positively the best guest service and the most accurate information for guests and Members alike! You are likely asking, Could this be real? Could I be a part of all this excitement AND get paid for it too? Why, yes, it is TRUE! Here at Cincinnati Museum Center, we have a talented team of Guest Experience staff who are the front-facing team across at the front of the house, the front of the gallery spaces in The Children's Museum, Cincinnati History Museum, Cincinnati Museum of Natural History and Science, and Featured Exhibitions. How incredibly fun is this opportunity? If you have spent any time here and asked yourself how fun it would be to be a part of something THIS special, we are looking for YOU! What would you be likely to be doing, you ask? Here are just a few of the fun things!
  • You would get to greet our guests at each entry point, scan their tickets, check their Memberships, provide information on exhibits, programs, and events, and share in their excitement to be here!
  • You would assist guests at the parking gates to ensure the effective flow of traffic during high attendance days, with no Elf-On-The-Shelf mischievousness permitted!
  • You would deliver absolutely, positively the best guest service by proactively greeting guests, providing orientation, and information regarding pricing, events schedules, etc., and help them plan their day for the most meaningful and magical experience possible!
  • Of course, we would train you to be so ready for our top-notch customer service, to deliver the best of the best in hospitality and messaging to our guests and members alike, with goals of delivering nothing less than world-class services and experiences to all who visit during this time!
What are we hoping you can bring with you to this position besides your holiday cheer and spirit?
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Experience in the areas of admissions, sales, hospitality, retail, or customer service would be a huge plus.
  • A positive vibe and one filled with the holiday spirit while being the best guest experience teammate!
  • A holiday helper who doesn't mind the occasional do you work here? , Excuse me, can you please help me find... type of repeated questions.
We are looking for teammates who can be proactive and curious while absorbing information quickly. The museums are full of guests and so much energy, we need a teammate who can handle the rush of excitement and keep a sense of calmness at the same time. We especially desire fun teammates who enjoy speaking and interacting with small and large groups of people from a variety of racial, cultural, ethnic, gender, and generational backgrounds with sensitivity and active listening. If you are someone with a passion for our museums, public speaking, and excellent communication skills, THIS IS THE SEASONAL JOB FOR YOU! The position is part-time, hourly. Requires flexible schedule to meet business demands, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and special hours outside of normal operation. Like Santa, this position takes place both indoors and outdoors and does not include a sleigh, so it will involve some longer periods of standing, sitting, and/or walking.... meaning, rain, nor sleet, or snow will stop us from delivering the best services around! When do we need you? Our fabulous holiday experience is from November 4, 2024, through January 20, 2025. It would be a position of up to 30 hours a week and would include weekend and evening availability requirements. We just do not want the fun to end, so our holiday season is extended with evenings and weekends being an important part of the season. What could make this possibly even better than it already sounds? Well, this list of benefits may just be the cherry on top! You would be part of meaningful experiences, inspiration, and lasting memories for so many guests. You would enjoy free membership for you and your family for a year. Complimentary tickets to featured exhibits and Omnimax films. Free parking. Discounts for food and beverages as well as gift shop. This is even better than expected, right?
