SUMMARY

The Inventory Specialist position is responsible for the supervision and performance of the daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts for both Raw Material processing locations. The Inventory Specialist will ensure that the Raw Material perpetual inventory is accurate for other members of the Raw Materials planning and operations team to use.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Ensure the daily, weekly, and monthly accuracy of the RM Perpetual Inventory.

* Make the necessary adjustments to the RM Perpetual Inventory within DCMS and JDE.

* Train operators and warehouse staff how to use the RM Perpetual Inventory module within DCMS and JDE.

* Provide a leading role within the JDE Training and Implementation Team.

* Oversee the inventory levels of the packaging required in the RM Compounding area.

* Notify the RM Procurement team of any low inventory items that are discovered during intra-monthly cycle counts.

* Perform and provide a weekly and monthly screen inventory count to the Director of Compound Operations to ensure adequate screen supplies are maintained.

* Provide an accurate EOM RM Inventory snapshot to the accounting group.

* Provide an accurate EOM Screen Inventory snapshot to the accounting group.

* Supervise and lead any RM Inventory Physical counts at both RM locations and provide follow-up support to the audit staff.

* Continually pursue methods to improve the accuracy of the RM inventory.

* Continually pursue methods to improve the flow of daily raw material moves, which will aid in maximizing the available warehouse space.

* May provide administrative back-up support and absence coverage for the RM Receiving Team Lead at the Dimex Plant. When providing back-up support ensure all incoming raw materials, all intra-warehouse transfers, and all outbound resale compound loads are handled accurately through the RM PI module within DCMS and JDE. When serving in this capacity you may be required to supervise a team of 1-3 RM Receiving Attendants that will load and unload trucks.

* Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

* High School diploma required; Associate or Technical level degree preferred.

* 3-5 years manufacturing or warehousing experience with inventory control responsibilities.

* Experienced with computer systems and ability to learn new computer responsibilities.

* Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, especially Word and Excel.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Neat and organized approach to daily work.

* Ability to multi-task and adapt to an evolving work environment.

* Ability to lead others in a 24/7 manufacturing environment during month end cycle counts and year end physical counts.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually mild to moderate as activity is normally based in a warehouse environment. Some of the work may be required in the operating units, which will require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. Activities may also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
