This position works out of our Easton Square location in the Nutrition Division. Our nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages, from helping babies and children grow, to keeping adult bodies strong and active. What You'll Work On
DESIGN/ART
Delivers project excellence by incorporating best practices in labeling art production to meet and exceed customer needs through understanding nutrition product labeling requirements, including branding, FDA requirements, and regulations.
Develops product labels that meet strategic, quality, budget, and timing requirements to support the brand and business objectives of the assigned business unit(s).
Works with design agencies to adapt provided designs across various packaging structures and flavors to create final art labeling deliverables.
Provides cross-functional department support by fulfilling ad hoc requests for artwork, render creation, etc., on an as-needed basis.
TECHNICAL
Gathers information to be printed, creates and modifies graphics for labeling of nutrition products and other related materials, as needed, ensuring compliance with all Nutrition Science, Legal, Regulatory requirements, and Packaging Engineering while following the established branded design format and style guidelines to maintain aesthetic quality.
Ensures print feasibility for all labeling projects during design development to ensure consistent, high-quality reproduction during printing while maintaining cost efficiency across all aspects of label development.
Supports cross-functional teams on innovation initiatives for new product lines by providing subject matter expertise on final design direction that meets printer specifications for final labeling deliverables.
Effectively utilizes available processes for managing digital assets to ensure compliance, security, and easy access by all cross-functional partners.
Acts as a subject matter expert in labeling development, driving innovation and new ideas from across the industry to provide creative label solutions to brands.
Advises on the cost implications of new designs/initiatives by investigating materials, substrates, and print methods for achieving the desired design and presents options for the best quality reproduction vs. cost-effectiveness.
Assures continuity across all structures within a brand and the overall company portfolio of brands.
Provides early identification of possible issues that could impact label development process and production while maintaining budgetary commitments and compliance with company policies and procedures.
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
Coordinates with internal cross-functional depts and external vendors to ensure project timelines/expectations are met.
Manages external vendors for proofreading, language translation needs, pre-press separations, and printing to ensure accurate and high-quality labeling deliverables.
Facilitates optimal timing in the art production timeline for layout approvals, photography, image color correction randoms from the separators, ink drawdown submissions from printers, and proofing and approvals for color standards.
Execute roles and responsibilities as defined for the Labeling Specialist role.
DESIGN/ART
Create labeling artwork using graphics software within established labeling procedures, guidelines and regulations.
Works with cross-functional depts to collect content and translate it into functional labeling layouts while identifying and resolving labeling inconsistencies in graphics, content, and requirements to meet project objectives.
Implements change requests during the labeling development process.
Creates 3D product renders and maintains a web-based database of current renders and related artwork for cross-functional dept use.
TECHNICAL
Responsible for following labeling procedures for label creation/delineation from initiation to completion per established Standard Operating Procedures for Labeling Services.
Provides continual improvements to and direction for the label development process.
Serve as a technical resource for in-house cross-functional departments that utilize labeling resources.
Provide input that helps streamline existing processes and participate in the drafting and reviewing new Standard Operating Procedures and training as new initiatives are identified.
Verifies accuracy and completeness of labeling projects produced through documentation review, proofreading, and necessary approvals before releasing final artwork files for production.
Perform other duties and responsibilities, such as Epson proofer maintenance, PQM program maintenance, generic shipper database updates, graphics software maintenance, font database maintenance, and render database maintenance.
Review submitted printed samples as color standards for compliance from Quality Assurance.
Ensure print feasibility for all labeling projects during development, ensuring consistent, high-quality print reproduction.
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
Manage multiple projects with concurrent deadlines with minimal supervision.
Manages updates to the Generic Shipper database and reporting for International Compliance.
Complies with company policies, standard operating procedures for Labeling, and task assignments as identified by management.
Trains and manages workload for contingency Labeling Specialist workers as needed.
Conducts preproduction meetings between Labeling, separators, printers, third-party manufacturers, etc., to ensure label designs meet specifications for various printing methods.
Conducts post-production meetings with separators, printers and other key suppliers, as needed.
Works directly with cross-functional depts to resolve issues impacting project objectives' completion and/or cost.
Plan, schedule, coordinate, and track labeling deliverables and ensure that labeling is completed accurately and on time as planned.
Keep accurate documentation for in-process/completed labeling projects and retain proofs and color standards for completed labeling projects.

The base pay for this position is $72,700.00 – $145,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
