About the role This position is a cross functional environment that performs transportation and logistics functions as Freight Bill Audit Payment. Some of the duties include evaluating and processing carrier invoices, using various systems and data files. This position will be responsible for researching and problem solving of shipping / delivery inquiries. Responsibilities Handle on hand shipments, returns, reconsignments, refusals, address corrections and invalid account numbers with Carriers and/or Customer Service. Work closely with Customer Service, Warehouses and Plants, Accounts Receivable, and External Auditors researching shipping/delivery inquiries. Work with small parcel carriers (UPS and Fed-Ex) creating call-tags, return shipments and researching tracking information Obtain supporting documents as needed to verify: Delivery information (Proof of Delivery) Shipping Information Billing Information File claims for lost or damaged shipments and create monthly summary reports on Overages, Shortages and Damages Assists with freight auditing and quotations, and freight/financial reporting as needed Assists freight payment group to: Obtain proper approvals for accessorial charges Process freight bills File payment backup Troubleshoot and research problems with carriers and facilities as needed Other projects/tasks as assigned Qualifications Must be a self-starter with the ability to work cross-functionally with internal and external teams Must be able to adapt to changes in technology Required a strong attention to detail Ability to plan, prioritize and organize tasks Must have experience with Microsoft Office: Word and Excel Excellent oral, written and problem-solving skills Education & Experience Associates Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred 3 to 5 years' work in a business environment. Transportation experience a plus.
