The Impact Youll Make in this Role
As a Specialist Product Development, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
+ Assuming technical leadership on NPI and NTI initiatives by advancing the use of robotic and electronic systems in the Cable Accessories space
+ Developing and designing robotic systems and tools.
+ Testing and supporting new prototype systems to advance the product platform.
+ Troubleshooting, calibrating and servicing field units through lab and on-site support at the customers.
+ Interfacing with cross-functional team members (marketing, manufacturing, supply chain, sales, technical service, quality, regulatory, etc) to ensure successful program delivery.
+ Generating intellectual property positions, including invention submissions, patents and 3M trade secrets.
+ Developing and commercializing products to efficiently, reliably and sustainably deliver energy to customers around the world.
Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
+ Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering or Science discipline (completed and verified prior to start)
+ Five (5) years of experience with electrical and/or mechanical systems design, testing and troubleshooting in a private, public, government or military environment.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
+ Advanced degree, e.g. MS or PhD in relevant area Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
+ Experience in robotics and/or systems engineering.
+ Experience in programming and debugging electromechanical systems.
+ Experience in inspection equipment and technologies (visual or other).
+ Experience with CAD tools and rapid prototyping
+ Aptitude for hands-on work
Work location:
+ Austin, TX site.
Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/international

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $160,284 - $195,903, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
