Job Description:

Position Summary:

The Product Specialist is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the Product Lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Specialist also ensures that the product supports the company's overall strategy and goals.

Responsibilities/Duties:

* Provide leadership for the successful day-to-day operation of the facility

* Work closely with production, customer service and quality personnel to review product consistency and accurate and timely response time to our customers

* Quoting of customer orders received from customer service

* Create work order configurations

* Bill of material creation and validation of existing BOMs

* Direct purchasing what items should be managed inventory to minimize conversion

* Provide technical support to customer service and plant personnel

* Cross reference management of parts numbers and information

* Create appropriate part numbers for better organization of inventory

* Encourage and promote operating in a continuous improvement environment

* Core purchasing point of contact for technical guidance

* Actively participate in product launches

* Recommend strategic teardowns of cores and parts

* Provide costing recommendations

* Initiate strategic development of parts

* Assist QFR on high value complicated quotes

Education/Experience:

* Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point and/or Access) to analyze data and trends.

* Previous experience/best practices implementing and using continuous improvement/lean tools such as; Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc. to drive improvement.

* Previous experience/broad understanding of safety systems and enforcement of safety rules and policies.

* Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations, maintenance and engineering.

* Excellent interpersonal communication and listening ability.

* A strong ability to be adaptable and flexible.

* Ability to work with teams and lead decision-making processes in a team environment.

* Highly motivated, results oriented, self-driven.

Personal Protective Equipment:

* Safety Glasses and steel/safety toed work boots are required.

* Other PPE equipment as required.

* Ear plugs in the clean up area

Work Environment:

* Manufacturing plant shop environment; regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
