This position serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the College's hiring process for managers and serves as a help desk technician for the College's applicant tracking system, PeopleAdmin. The HR Senior Specialist plays a key role in managing and improving the recruitment and staffing processes at the College. This position will also train new hiring managers on all aspects of the hiring process. This position is responsible for applying the college's compensation plan to existing and newly hired employees, classification assessments, and assisting managers with job analysis, job specification, and drafting accurate job descriptions to determine the exemption status under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Provides specialized administrative and technical services in the areas of recruitment, advertising, record keeping, and special projects. Initiates background checks, reviews results, and processes in accordance with GTCC policy. Processes all I-9s through E-Verify to ensure federal compliance with recordkeeping.
Works with other Senior HR Specialists to prepare Bureau of Labor Statistics, IPEDS, and Staff Information reports, and other reports as requested.
Min Salary $51,292.31 Mid Salary $57,703.85 - We offer a competitive salary package that will be determined based on the candidate's experience level and qualifications related to the job. * Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration or related field from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution
OR
* Associates degree from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution and 4 years of HR experience
OR
* 2 years of College and 6 years of HR experience

* Three years of related professional experience
* Two years of experience working with and maximizing applicant tracking system software
* Experience in compensation management
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
KSA Required
* Knowledge of full cycle recruiting and ability to successfully train others on topic
* Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; good writing skills are essential to job advertisements, other forms of written correspondence.
* Familiarization with Federal and State employment laws
* Familiarization with and ability to effectively process I-9 Employment Eligibility using E-Verify
* Some knowledge of payroll practices/procedures.
* Ability to work efficiently under time constraints; ability to multitask/prioritize while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
* Strong organizational skills.
* Ability to accept unfamiliar projects, research and collect data, apply the information to the project, and develop an appropriately completed product with little or no supervision.
* Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision and also as a team member.
