Specialist Supply Chain Logistics

Department: Manufacturing

Shift: 1st shift

Job Description and Qualifications:

Role Synopsis:

Kennametal seeks a Specialist Supply Chain Logistics to work in Asheboro, NC, and be responsible for the demand and supply planning processes for specific value streams and for maintaining the monthly S&OP processes in a manner that is in line with Corporate Strategic Initiatives. Will also support daily and weekly tactical planning activities that involve the analysis of fill rates, inventory investments and forecast deviations.

Key Responsibilities:

The following is a list of common responsibilities but are not limited to:

* Deal directly with suppliers to ensure prompt and accurate deliveries, proactively expedite materials for timely delivery to meet the project's schedule.

* Confer with supervisors to determine overdue project materials, inform supervisors of product status, and answer queries on delivery of materials.

* Generate open purchase order reports, partner with Materials Manager to resolve invoice/credit issues with suppliers Maintain the Engineering Change Notice revisions in SAP following standard operating procedures.

* Regularly update and correct Material Master status to keep Safety Stocks accurate.

* Identify critical path(s) of materials and establish contingency plans to ensure project deadlines are maintained.

* Track material delivery dates and follow up with production, as required.

Key Qualifications:

The following are minimum and preferred requirements:

* Knowledge of SAP: Materials Module

* Proficient in Microsoft Office

* Preferred 4 year secondary degree or equivalent experience in a planning materials function/role

* Understand oral and written communications and instructions

* Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers

* Must have 5 - 7 years or more experience in a related position
