You'd be responsible for handling and organizing animal tissue specimens such as tissues, tissue blocks, and slides.**Location:** Leesburg, VA**Shift:** Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm**Pay:** $17-$19 per hour**Type:** Contract**Responsibilities**+ Sort and inventory of research material, which may include, but is not limited to: wet tissues, blocks, slides, paper data, and/or temperature sensitive material+ Keep the Biorepository Coordinator informed of day-to-day progress, including irregularities and deviations from the normal+ Knowledgeable of Standard Operating Procedures+ Perform actual archiving procedures necessary for the completion of assigned projects+ Available for offsite projects / travel+ Performance of other duties as assigned by the Biorepository Coordinator or appropriate supervisory personnel+ Understand the significance of Quality Control procedures and perform his/her work accordingly.**Qualifications**+ High school graduate (or equivalent)+ Previous experience handling tissue specimens.+ Able to follow written and/or verbal instructions+ Capable of producing quality work.+ Ability to learn and use Microsoft Office and database softwareINDBHWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
