Founded in 1990 by Mr. Eduardo Gutierrez and operating as The Student Alternatives Program, we rebranded in 2019 to Triumph Public High Schools. We specialize in serving high school students who are placed at-risk in completing their high school education. We believe that every student can and will succeed and we are there to help them every step of the way. Triumph Public High Schools is seeking a dynamic, dedicated and passionate individual with a heart to help at-risk youth, to work at our campus in Abilene, Texas. When you start here, you Triumph here! #TOGETHERWETRIUMPHResponsibilities: The Special Education Aide assist the teacher in meeting the individualized needs of students with disabilities in the least restrictive educational setting appropriate to the student. He/she assists in implementation of classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management, and instructional programs. He/she works under the general supervision of the Principal and immediate direction of a certified special education teacher. He/she performs other duties as required and that are within his/her capabilities. This position may require some occasional work on Saturday's, over the summer and some travel within the state of Texas.Qualifications:Must have completed two years of study at an institution of higher education ORHold an Associate of Arts (or higher) degreeTwo years of study is defined as having completed 48 hours or more college credit hours at an accredited junior college or universityPrefer individuals with ability to assist in instructing in the areas of reading, writing, and mathematicsPrevious experience with working with students with special needs is preferredBilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not requiredAbility to read, write and understand English requiredRequired to pass a pre-employment fingerprinting as part of the background checkRequired to submit original college transcripts, service records and credentials within first 30 days of employmentBenefits:Employee Health Premium 100% Covered by EmployerVision, Dental and Life Insurance OptionsAutomatically placed in the Teacher Retirement System (TRS)Paid time off (For Full Time Staff Only)Pay Range Based on Education, Experience, Certifications and/or Credentials:$22,440 to 24,684 per year* Annually salary is calculated at a prorated rate from effective date of hireHow to Apply: All applicants should apply online at all applicants will be interviewed.
