Work is performed under the supervision of the principal with support from curriculum specialists and academic coaches. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare Lesson Plans That Meet the Needs of Learners
  • Ensure lessons are aligned to standards and represent a coherent sequence of learning.
  • Prepare lessons with high levels of learning for all students.
Provide Quality Instruction That Leads to Student Understanding
  • Assist students in taking responsibility for learning and monitor student learning.
  • Provide multiple ways for students to make meaning of content.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to individual differences and developmental stages of students.
Maintain a Culture and Learning Environment That Promotes Student Learning
  • Manage a learning-focused classroom community.
  • Manage classroom space, time, and resources (including technology when appropriate) effectively for student learning.
  • Create and maintain a classroom of respect for all students.
Maintain a High Level of Professionalism
  • Engage in professional learning.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with colleagues, students, and families/guardians.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College/University
  • Minimum Class A Mississippi Teaching Certificate
  • Subject required endorsement(s) to be highly qualified . See attachment.
