Our services are run by our compassionate, highly trained staff of more than 450 professionals and paraprofessionals includes Masters level social workers, psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, childcare workers, nurses, certified home health aides, multilingual clinicians, peer counselors and early childhood educators.

Family Services of Westchester's (FSW) Prime Time Therapeutic Preschool is a special education program for preschoolers in Westchester and Putnam Counties that offers a comprehensive range of individualized educational programming and therapeutic services.

FSW is looking for a full-time Certified Speech Pathologist (bilingual English-Spanish speaking a plus) to work in our Prime Time preschool program in White Plains, NY. They will travel between two locations.

JOB SUMMARY

Speech Language Pathologists will evaluate, diagnose, and treat students with speech and/or language disorders, formulate individualized treatment programs, keep appropriate records, and inform faculty and parents about students' progress. They will implement appropriate treatment approaches in accordance with the scope and range of ASHA (American Speech and Hearing Association) guidelines and the child's Individualized Education Plan.

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain IEP service mandates
  • Assessment & Report and IEP Writing
  • Maintain session notes on portal

COMMUNICATION

  • Provide direct quality services based on students IEPs to enhance therapeutic outcomes
  • Maintains working relationships and open communication with staff and families
  • Demonstrates ability to function in a culturally sensitive manner within FSWs philosophy and mission

COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT

  • Maintains student and staff confidentiality
  • Completes projects with competence and on time
  • Maintains professional demeanor
  • Maintains regulatory compliance
  • Follows requirements of mandated reporting

REQUIRMENTS

EDUCATION

  • Minimum of a masters degree in Speech Pathology
  • ASHA certification or working toward certification
  • TSSLD or Eligible for certification

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 8:00-2:30 pm
  • Experience in pediatrics

  • Familiarity with CPSE/CSE Portal
  • Strong writing and reading skills
  • Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions
  • Exhibits thoroughness and attention to detail

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

PHYSICAL

  • Manual dexterity and regular hours at computer keyboard
  • Physical strength and dexterity skills in negotiating stairs and uneven surfaces
  • Ability to physically remove students from harm during tantrums
  • Ability to intercept students running toward danger
  • Ability to bend and lift/manage up to 20lbs
  • Ability to drive between sites
  • Ability to respond to emergencies; provide CPR and First Aid
