About Us

At the Bronx Early Learning Center, we believe in movement as a path to empowerment. Our vibrant, nurturing preschool for children with special needs is part of the Volunteers of America network, an organization committed to creating opportunities and fostering resilience in the communities we serve.

Our newly renovated, child-focused facility provides a welcoming and well-equipped environment, tailored to support both the educators and therapists who work here and the children who benefit from their expertise. Here, we go beyond therapy to create lasting impact, ensuring each child gains the confidence and physical independence they need to thrive.

Your Role

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will be instrumental in transforming lives by helping children find their voice and express themselves. Through your work, you'll empower young learners to build confidence, connect with others, and unlock their potential, contributing to a mission that goes beyond education to truly change lives.

What You'll Do

  • Assess Communication Needs: Conduct thorough evaluations to identify each child's speech and language challenges and needs.
  • Develop Individualized Plans: Create and implement tailored treatment plans to address speech and language goals as outlined in each student's IEP.
  • Deliver Quality Therapy: Provide engaging, effective speech therapy services that empower children to develop essential communication skills.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with educators, therapists, and families to ensure an integrated approach to supporting each child's growth.
  • Support Parents and Caregivers: Offer training and consistent communication to involve families in their child's progress and success.
  • Maintain Professional Standards: Complete accurate and timely documentation while adhering to organizational policies and professional guidelines.
  • Contribute to Professional Development: Participate in staff development activities and provide in-service training to colleagues.

Role Requirements

  • New York State Certificate as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped or Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities
  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • NYS Professional License as a Speech-Language Pathologist (preferred)
  • A passion for helping children unlock their potential and a commitment to excellence
