Job Description:

The Quabbin Regional School District seeks an experienced Speech Language Therapy Assistant for the 2024-25 school year. The Speech/Language Pathology Assistant will provide support to students with a variety of communication disorders (at all grade levels-preschool through Grade 12) under the director of a certified Speech/Language Pathologist.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.Current licensure or eligibility for licensure by the Massachusetts Board of Allied Health Professionals

2.Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication Disorders. Previous experience working with children or adolescents in a school or pediatric setting preferred

3.Ability to work with children in related areas (e.g. language, literacy, communication) with varying needs.

4.Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with Speech/Language Pathologist, teachers, and other school personnel.

5.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and possess a high level of capability with technology.

6.Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

a)Conduct speech-language screenings.

b)Follow documented treatment plans or protocols.

a.Assist the speech/language pathologist with data collection and the assessment of students' abilities for the purpose of determining their strengths and future recommendations.

b.Observe and record the effectiveness of direct intervention and document student progress.

c.Collaborate with educational staff, related service provides, supervising Speech/Language Pathologist, and parents to implement student programs.

d.Prioritize and schedule work tasks independently.

e.Assist with informal documentation, prepare materials, and other clerical duties.

f.Perform checks and maintenance of equipment.

g.Maintain clinical and administrative records in accordance with professional standards, state guidelines, and agency requirements.

h.Adhere to federal and state legislation, regulation, and policies that affect physical therapy practice.

i.Participate in continuing education opportunities to ensure best practice.

j.Provide continuing education and in-services for educational personnel, parents and community-based service providers as requested.

k.Utilize professional literature, evidence-based research and continuing education content to make practice decisions.

l.Maintain professional boundaries and ensure student/staff confidentiality as appropriate within the educational team.

m.Performs such other tasks as may be assigned by the building administrator from time to time.

Work Year: 183 day, 7 hours per day

Salary: $44,363.89
