We care for your career while caring for the community.Pension PlanRetirement PlanAdvancement OpportunitiesEmployee DiscountsSUMMARYAs a Speech Pathologist, your empathy, compassion and exceptional evaluation abilities lead to rehabilitative treatment programs that restore or improve patient's optimal level of function, independence and quality of life.STATUS: Per DiemLOCATION: United Memorial Medical CenterDEPARTMENT: Speech PathologySCHEDULE: DaysATTRIBUTESMinimum of nine (9) months of supervised work experience (completion of CFY), or participation in supervised clinical fellowship, for a minimum of 36 weeks under a NYS licensed Speech Pathologist, followed by the NYS licensure examination and achievement of NYS licenseOne (1) year experience with frail elderly population preferredCompassionate, warm and patient focusedExcellent organization and planning skillsRESPONSIBILITIESEvaluation & Planning. Perform a complete initial evaluation of referred patient; develop and implement treatment plans, including appropriate short- and long-term goals; involve the patient, family and staff in the implementation of the treatment program; re-evaluate patient functional status progressively; advance patient toward maximal performance and functional independenceDocumentation. Maintain a complete documentation of patient evaluations, treatment, progress and discharge status; send required information to appropriate professionalsCollaboration. Actively participate in rehabilitation team efforts to meet patient needs, including counseling and teaching patient and family, discussing changes in treatment programs with MDs, coordinating healthcare plans with other involved professionals and assisting in discharge planning as appropriateEDUCATION:MS: Speech Pathology (Required)PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.PAY RANGE: $66,560.00 - $105,000.00The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future.
