Responsibilities:
Job Summary
Provide speech therapy services to infants toddlers, preschool and school age children for an assigned caseload and conduct speech therapy assessments and evaluations. This position is Per Diem- hours/schedule based on the needs of the school.
Position Functions and Responsibilities
- Provide mandated services to assigned children on caseload in compliance with IFSP/IEP documents
- Participate in meetings and consultations with education staff and the multidisciplinary team concerning the needs of each child as related to his/her mandated services and progress updates
- Work effectively with parents, teaching staff and other professionals directly involved in the care and treatment of the child to develop and monitor IEP services
- Use accurate assessment skills to perform functional evaluations with reports reflecting current knowledge and evidence-based practices and communicate results effectively in both written and verbal formats
- Maintain accurate record keeping and IEP/IFSP goal tracking documentation as required by SED/EI and Schools policies for quality assurance and accountability purposes
- Design and monitor assistive technology, adaptive equipment and augmentative communication needs in collaboration with team and family members
- Implement and monitor feeding programs for children on assigned case load in accordance with the schools policies and ASHA guidelines for school therapists
- Serves as clinical instructor as needed for SLP students
- Actively participate in the creation and implementation of an individual and School wide Professional Development Plan that inspires personal growth and informs clinical practices
- Carry out standards for customer service; quality improvement; professional development; environmental, safety and infection control practices; confidentiality, corporate compliance and all other ESCS policies and procedures; attend all mandatory in-services to ensure regulatory compliance and best practices in working with students and their families
- Perform other tasks to support the operations of the school as assigned by School Administration
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology
- New York State Speech Language Pathology License
- NYS Teacher of Speech Hearing Certification
Experience:
- Minimum of 1-year pediatric SLP experience
Salary:
$60.00/Hr.
