- We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech-Language Therapist to join our interdisciplinary rehabilitation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in our patients. The Speech-Language Therapist will work closely with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at improving patients' quality of life and functional abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' speech, language, communication, and swallowing abilities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and goals.
- Provide therapy for speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, therapeutic techniques, and strategies to improve communication and swallowing function.
- Monitor and document patients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and nursing staff, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and continuing education opportunities to stay current with best practices and advancements in speech-language pathology.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in compliance with regulatory and facility standards.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards set by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and state licensing board.
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to lift and move patients, equipment, and supplies.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and providing therapy.
- Manual dexterity and strength to perform therapeutic techniques and use clinical tools.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in California.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Proven experience as a Speech-Language Therapist, preferably in a skilled nursing or post-acute setting.
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning, and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with advancements in speech-language pathology.
- CPR certification (preferred).
