What you'll do as a Splicer II FiberSplicing fiber cable for large cable transfersAdtran and Calix testing and turn-upLight labor including lifting manhole covers and barricading open manholesWorking with ISP/OSP terminationsWorking in, from and around hand-holes and manholes What you'll need To be 18 years of age or olderAuthorization to work in the United States for this company2 or more years of fiber splicing experienceKnowledge of hot cuts and solid OTDR testingRibbon splicing knowledge preferredExperience in how to read and interpret outside and subscriber plant facility records and engineering schematic work printsAdditional qualifications (if applicable) Working knowledge of direct termination of fiber-optic connectors including mechanical, anaerobic, epoxy polish, heat cured as well as pigtail splicing methodsWorking knowledge of ISP/OSP fiber optics terminations in splicing products in regards to appropriate applicationWorking knowledge of analog and digital transmissionElectronics training or experience that demonstrates knowledge of AC/DC theoryPhysical abilities & exposuresRoutinely: Duties outlined in this position will require the employee to stand, crouch, climb sit, bend, use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low. The employee will be standing, walking, climbing, balancing, crawling, crouching, lifting, holding or stooping while on shift.Occasionally: Employees performing these job functions may be required to lift or move up to 10 up to 50 pounds.
