Description:

As a Splitting Technician at PURIS, you play a key role in plant operations & food safety. This position is responsible for running the splitting process at max efficiency while producing a quality product to our customers. This individual will continuously monitor all equipment and product quality and make adjustments to achieve our goals. All Technicians are responsible to abide by PURIS' SOPs, SSOPs, and Quality Standards at all times. Safety is our #1 priority, therefore Splitting Technicians must adhere to all plant policies with regard to Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices.

Technicians must also embody the PURIS Core Values: Integrity, Leadership, Openness, Global Vision, Adaptability, and Partnership.

  • Startup, monitor & adjust all equipment from Receiving bins to Finished Product Bins
  • Constantly walk the production floor verifying equipment operation & product quality
  • Monitor & drive production rate/output and adjust as necessary to achieve target rates as necessary
  • Complete production documentation as required
  • Become an expert on equipment operation and system operation to maximize product & by-product yields
  • Communicate with all departments & shifts on daily operational information to ensure success across all shifts
  • Manage all product bins to ensure continuous operation and proper inventory levels
  • Watch FP quality & by products quality so customer specs are maintained and yield is acceptable through proper separation between splits, hulls, culls & screenings
  • Responsible for performing routine and non-routine tasks in a safe manner, in addition to supporting and abiding by the safety culture
  • Responsible for keeping plant clean and neat
  • Assist with plant preventive maintenance and repairs
  • Perform other tasks and projects as required
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Industrial manufacturing experience required
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred
  • Can understand process flow and cause & effect from equipment adjustments
  • Willingness to learn new things and help others.
  • Writing and understanding written sentences, paragraphs, and directions in work related documents.
  • Be able to use effective time management skills and be able to prioritize tasks
  • Capable of physical labor
  • Capable of wearing PPE; including, but not limited to: hearing, eye, and hand protection
