Come help First Citizens build for the future!FCB's Sponsor Finance Group ( SFG ), part of the company's Commercial Finance Group, is the primary private equity coverage group offering leveraged and non-leveraged cashflow loans to C&I PE-owned companies within the Middle Market. SFG's objective is to develop long-term relationships with Sponsors and their portfolio companies and ensure the consistent delivery of the full breadth of FCB's capabilities.Responsibilities
- As an intern, this is an opportunity to work for a top 20 U.S. Bank with significant advancement opportunities both within the department and other functional areas of First Citizen's Commercial Bank.
- Candidates will work within a team construct to assist in the credit underwriting and portfolio management of diverse debt solutions for middle-market companies. Specifically: (i) LBO Financing, (ii) Acquisition Financing, (iii) Debt Refinancing, and (iv) Recapitalizations-working with potential borrowers, private equity teams, and other Lenders.
- Have a dedicated manager and program manager to help you navigate the bank and the internship program.
- Ability to function independently and as part of a small deal team.
- Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills.
- Be assigned a project which will be designed to improve a specific process or solve a problem that will be presented at the close of the internship.
- Prepare a wrap-up presentation to be shared with the division leader and other key stakeholders in the company to outline their accomplishments and experience during the internship.
Internship dates: 5/28/2025 - 8/01/2025 QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of experience.
- Currently enrolled at an accredited collegiate institution (during the time of the summer program).
- Ability to work 40 hours per week during the duration of the program.
- 3.0 minimum GPA

- Possess a positive attitude, naturally curious and enjoys collaborating with others.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking skills.
- Ability to multitask, take direction and absorb information quickly.
- Bachelor of Science in Finance or Economics.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
The base pay for this position is generally between $22.44/hour and $34.32/hour. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law.
