We match individuals to a unique home environment, allowing them to have more independence and connection to resources. As a sponsored residential provider, you will help individuals strengthen life skills, achieve their personal goals, and build independence.Am I a good candidate for this position?We are currently seeking professional individuals, couples, partners, or families to open their homes to people who experience intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Our ideal candidates will have:
  • A passion for helping others achieve their goals and live fulfilled lives.
  • The ability to use a computer and complete documentation.
  • 1 or more years of professional experience working with individuals with disabilities (we may be able to offer a temporary position in one of our other programs to gain this experience, if needed).
What type of work environment can I expect?Though supports will be provided in your home, the environment must be adaptable to the individual's needs. It may be fast-paced and include interruptions and deadlines. The work may be physically demanding if the individual has mobility needs and can include behavioral support as well as other interventions. You must be flexible and able to adjust to changing needs. This is a long-term commitment requiring passion and dedication.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
  • Must be 21+ years old
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must reside or plan on moving to Virginia
  • 1 year of professional experience providing direct support for someone who has an intellectual/developmental disability (preferred)
  • Ability to operate a computer and strong writing skills
  • Must be willing to undergo a background check
  • Must have a clean driving record and a reliable and safe vehicle
  • Must pass a thorough environmental inspection
