Position Description

Oversees and manages the organization's overall sponsorship program and supports fundraising goals by identifying and securing funding from individuals and companies for the benefit of Five Rivers MetroParks

Duties/Responsibilities

* Work with Chief of Philanthropy to establish annual goals for corporate support through sponsorships/naming and donations.

* Work with staff in all functional areas to identify funding needs for programs, events and amenities that would be appropriate for sponsors.

* Develop sponsorship opportunities and create marketing materials that include event/program/amenity overviews and benefit menus according to industry best practices.

* Secure corporate sponsors and donations for events, programs, and amenities.

* Create naming opportunities/proposals that align with Five Rivers MetroParks' Naming of Assets Policy.

* Research and identify sponsorship prospects.

* Oversee and manage the organization's overall sponsorship program by working with marketing and program staff to ensure all terms of agreements are met, tracks and approves deliverables, and monitors the results of sponsorships.

* Create post-event/program sponsorship reports for all sponsors.

* Steward each corporate supporter ensuring that year-round relationships are maintained.

* Conduct sponsorship prospecting research to help identify potential sponsors and supporters.

* Develop relationships with corporate partners.

* Conduct tours with potential sponsors when appropriate.

* Develop initiatives and strategies to recruit new sponsors.

* Draft sponsorship packages and benefits for a variety of FRMP events, venues, and programs

* Ensure that sponsorship packages are complete and executed by required deadlines.

* Ensure that FRMP fulfills its sponsorship agreement obligations as specified in the contract.

* Maintain a database of sponsorship activity.

* Negotiate and review all sponsorship contracts.

* Write innovative, attractive, well-researched and appealing proposals and overview documents for prospective sponsors.

* Meet annual fundraising objectives set in conjunction with the Chief of Philanthropy and develop and implement a sponsorship budget to help achieve year-end goals.

* Research and implement best practices in philanthropy, particularly with regard to corporate sponsorship.

* Submit bi-monthly marketing plans, prospect activity, and forecast reports to the Chief of Philanthropy.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

* Work with philanthropy and marketing staff to identify/write content for Parkways, e-newsletters, and social media platforms.

* Prepare sponsorship reports, and other related information for Executive Leadership, Board of Park Commissioners, and Foundation boards of trustees, upon request.

* Provide service to the public, responding to questions, offering assistance, and providing information.

* Collaborate internally, within and across functional areas, to provide information and service to others in the organization to contribute to the effective operation of the agency and all staff.

* Maintain confidentiality of confidential or sensitive records and information.

* Perform special projects and serve on special committees as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A combination of appropriate education, training, course work, and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of an acceptable qualification is:

* Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, fundraising, public relations, or related field,

* Five years' experience in fundraising within a public or non-profit organization; preferably at a conservation agency.

* Ability to: perform research; organize information; write clearly, professionally, and persuasively; communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms; manage personal time, meet tight deadlines; work well and professionally under pressure; completely finish projects independently with a minimum of direct hands-on supervision; have high fundraising ethical standards.

* Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
