Sporting Event Coordinator
Scope
The Athletic Department exists to develop excellence in athletes so that God is honored in all aspects of their lives and to disciple students spiritually, athletically and socially. The position of Sporting Event Coordinator will run and maintain well-balanced competitive programs involving high school, middle school and intramural teams.
Qualifications
The candidate shall possess characteristics that reflect:
A strong clear Christian testimony with a mature and godly spirit
A daily example of the highest Christian virtue both in and out of school
Commitment to faithful attendance and support of a church whose beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith for Christian Academy School System
Agreement and belief that the Bible is the final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind
The ideal candidate shall possess:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
Ability to multitask and work in fast paced environment
Accountabilities/Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Director of Athletics and coaches on scheduling games/events and practices
Oversee all game management including field prep, set up (water, ice, clocks, benches, some field markers, waste bins) as well as other duties before and after games.
Meet the needs of visiting teams and coaches
Responsible for overseeing game officials and gate workers
Scheduled hours are 2:30 pm - 10:00 pm
Scheduled days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and some Saturdays. *The selected cadidate has the ability to choose all days or a minimum of 3 days that best fit his/her schedule, maintaining that some Saturdays will be required.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to traverse various athletic grounds and facilities
Prolonged periods of standing or walking
Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds at a time
Accountability/Reporting
Reports directly to the Athletic Director.
