Job Description:
Sports Information Director The Opportunity Lesley University seeks a part-time Sports Information Director (SID). The SID will serve as the primary media contact for all NCAA Division III varsity sports at Lesley University. Lesley is an NCAA Division III institution and a member of the North Atlantic Conference with 15 varsity programs, serving over 150 student-athletes. The SID will market and promote Lesley athletics to the University community as well as at the regional and national level. This includes maintaining the department's website with Lesley Athletics' news; creating a dynamic digital media strategy through social media and videography platforms; and compiling statistics, reports, polls, schedules, standings, and championship information for Lesley's records. The SID will similarly contribute to the overall success of the Athletic Department by helping drive the university's vision and abide by the values of Lesley University. This includes working with Head Coaches to coordinate annual schedules and contracts; operating as the Official Scorer/Statistician at Lesley home contests; overseeing the nomination process for all-conference, regional, and national awards; participating in Admissions recruiting events; and serving as the point person for the Athletics Banquet. Qualities and Capabilities The successful candidate will have: Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, sports management, or a related field (required). Master's degree in journalism, communications, sports management, or a related field (preferred). Proven skills and experience managing student employees, coaches, teams, and day-to-day operations. Experience working with website management (Presto), the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, etc), Word, Publisher, and PrestoStats, NCAA LiveStats, StatCrew. Must have a valid U.S. driver's license. Must be authorized to work in the United States.
