Position: Full-time/Part-time/Per-diem Sports Physical Therapist

  • Expected to participate in Orlin & Cohen sponsored athletic events in Suffolk County.
  • Shift consists of mixed opening and closing shifts with rotating Saturdays

*Physical Therapy License REQUIRED

*Must be currently licensed as a Physical Therapist in New York State. Or must have a valid permit and become licensed and registered within one year of employment.

*2+ years of outpatient experience with a focus in sports.

Candidate Attributes:

  • Extensive experience treating collegiate, semi-professional and professional athletes
  • Strong background in sports as either and ATC or Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
  • Familiarity and proficiency with isokinetic testing (Biodex) and motion analysis (DARI)
  • Ability to thoroughly evaluate patients to develop effective & efficient care plans
  • Understanding of a wide array of postoperative protocols
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Service and team oriented
  • Excellent patient and physician communication skills
  • Working knowledge of various manual therapy techniques and exercise prescription
  • Commitment to personal development
  • Contributes to a positive and caring workplace culture
  • Displays empathy to all patients
  • Experience and proficiency in using an electronic medical record (EMR)

Responsibilities Include:

  • Administration of direct patient care.
  • Designs and implements personalized and evidence-based intervention programs to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Submits required documentation in accordance with the policies and procedures of the department.
  • Participates in quality improvement chart reviews and activities.
  • Performs related duties, as required.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy, required. Master's/Doctorate Degree, preferred.
  • Must be currently licensed as a Physical Therapist in New York State. Or must have a valid permit and become licensed and registered within one (1) year of employment
  • 2+ years of outpatient experience, with a focus in sports.
