Primary Function: Prepares, facilitates, and evaluates programming activities for youth to ensure enrichment programming is successful. Ensures a safe environment and that safety measures are always followed while on-site.Hours:During the school year: Part time hours (approx. 20 hours a week) Monday - Friday Out of school time: (i.e. summer, winter, and/or spring break) hours may vary, but will remain a part-time position. Out of school time hours may range between 7:00am - 8:00pm.Primary Function: Officiate sporting events, games, or competitions, to maintain standards of play and to ensure that rules of the game are observed and enforced.Key Responsibilities:
- Officiate sporting events, games, or competitions, to maintain standards of play and to ensure that game rules are observed and enforced.
- Signal participants or other officials to make them aware of infractions or to otherwise regulate play or competition.
- Inspect sporting equipment and/or examine participants in order to ensure compliance with event and safety regulations.
- Keep track of event times, including race times and elapsed time during game segments, starting or stopping play when necessary.
- Judge performances in sporting competitions in order to award points, impose scoring penalties, and determine results.
- Provides feedback to Club youth using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, or build confidence in student athletes.
- Enforces Club rules and policies.
- Maintains a professional and role-model persona.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Attends staff meetings and training sessions as prescribed
- May be required to drive a shuttle bus or Club transportation
- Perform other duties as assigned
RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Must be familiar with multiple sports and rules
- Must pass background check, reference check, and drug test
- Must be able to work and interact professionally with youth
- Willingness to obtain National Association of Sports Officials (NASO) sports official in various sports
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to swiftly move throughout the playing area/field
- Ability to work in various weather conditions-hot, cold, rainy, etc
- Ability to move equipment up to 50 pounds
- Adequate vision and hearing to officiate games and ensure the safety of Club youth
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Kinesiology, Sports, or related field preferred
- At least one year of relevant work experience with youth ages 5 - 18 years
- If 21 years or older, hold a valid state Driver's License
- Spanish speaking a plus
- Exemplary written and spoken communication skills
- Demonstrates dependability, accountability, and cooperation
