Stats Perform is looking for a full-timeResearcher/Editorto join the U.S. Data Insights team. In this role, you will be responsible for producing unique statistical content for our industry-leading client base, including major broadcasters, digital platforms, leagues, teams, and universities.The role entails using internal tools and your strong sports knowledge to generate notes, insights and statistical storylines on major professional and college sports. You will create research reports and editorial content - both pre-game and in-game - as well as respond to custom research requests directly from our clients, often under the time pressure of live broadcasts.This role does require the ability to work on a shift pattern that includes nights and weekends.Please include a resume, cover letter and any relevant writing samples with your application.THIS ROLE CAN BE OFFERED ON A REMOTE BASIS!

Required profile:

Responsibilities:

  • Write compelling, short-form statistical content based on trends, streaks, milestones, etc.
  • Support live broadcasts with absolutely accurate and timely research assistance
  • Answer clients' statistical questions by researching our database and sometimes outside sources
  • Meet daily delivery deadlines
  • Attend online meetings for training or administrative purposes
  • Write SQL scripts to query the Stats Perform proprietary database
  • Use Tableau to create advanced data visualizations and graphics
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience in statistical research, writing and/or analysis in the sports field
  • High comfort level working in a deadline-intensive atmosphere, supporting live events
  • Excellent content creator who understands what most engages or interests a sports audience
  • Strong grammar and written communication skills with adaptability for specific content style
  • Deep familiarity and interest in College Football& Basketball as well as MLB and NFL
  • Ability to analyze sports statistics and present them clearly and creatively
  • Passion for sports and willingness to go the extra mile to unearth the best stats and insights
  • Degree in Comms, Journalism, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or related field
  • Knowledge or experience in SQL and Tableau software
  • Experience using Slack, Microsoft Teams and Google Sheets
  • Personable, affable demeanor to communicate with colleagues as well as clients
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in data-based sports journalism and/or TV production
  • Experience covering live sporting events in-person
  • Ability to translate English content into Spanish
  • Familiarity with SQL scripting and PL/SQL coding
  • Knowledge of Twitter and understanding social media engagement/analytics
  • Experience with R, Python or Photoshop
