How you'll make an impact: As a Software Engineering Intern for the Content Management and Programming Tools team, you will be working with experienced engineers building intuitive tools and services that empower users to enrich, manage, tag, and curate content and entities programmatically. You will be learning key aspects of software delivery that help you to achieve critical business objectives that drive value to customers. As part of your internship you will be assigned a mentor and an exciting project that you will lead from inception to production delivery. You will learn modern software and cloud development in a supportive environment and gain experience in creating, deploying, maintaining high volume distributed systems. The ideal candidate will be someone who is passionate about learning new technologies and best practices, working with highly collaborative engineering teams, delivering high quality products and striving to develop solutions to complex problems at high scale. What you'll do: - Work directly as part of an engineering team that delivers new features and functionality with high quality and robust architecture which support SiriusXM and Pandora platforms.
- Innovate to build performant solutions that continue to scale to the increasing demands of the business.
- Strive to develop simple solutions to complex problems, constantly seek ways to improve at every iteration, make suggestions for improvements.
- Learn and operate in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Create design UI frameworks and design libraries that are highly reusable.
- Build backend Java RESTful Web APIs, AWS services (ECS, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, Kinesis, SQS, EventBridge).
- Use source control systems (Git and GitHub) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) to continuously deploy applications to production.
- Write automated unit and integration tests.
- Participate in architecture and technical discussions.

What you'll need: - Internships are open to current students enrolled at a university (those graduating by January 2027 are preferred) and recent graduates who graduated within the 12-month period prior to the start of the internship.
- Majors in computer science or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in software or cloud development - work projects, internships, summer jobs, etc.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, JavaScript or Python.
- Must have a legal right to work in the US.
At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be $40/hr and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
