Job Summary: The SQL Database Administrator ( DBA ) will manage the Company's various Microsoft SQL Server environments. The successful candidate will be an integral team member in supporting and furthering Quadax's developed healthcare revenue cycle management applications, as well as third party vendor applications. Team collaboration will be key in this role, as the DBA will actively work with other IT and application development teams. The effective administration of SQL Server environment(s) will be performed according to the Company's IT Change Management policies, with key responsibilities further summarized below. Job Details:
- This is a HYBRID position - must be onsite in Middleburg Heights, OH 2 days a week.
- Administer Microsoft SQL Server environment(s) and dependent infrastructure, including deployment, security, clustering, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Perform proactive SQL Server performance tuning and optimization.
- Project ownership, planning, and implementation as assigned.
- Proactively trend SQL Server performance marks, bringing trending concerns & optimization recommendations before management.
- Maintain a pulse of emerging SQL Server features and security risks, administering upgrades and patches as deemed appropriate.
- Maintain documented SQL Server recovery procedures, exercising such within a controlled test environment to prove viability.
- Actively collaborate with application development to; a) Aid in physical & logical database modeling, including database schema, stored procedures, triggers and other related objects, b) Provide functional insight into the likes of SSRS, SSAS, SSIS and emerging features, c) Plan for scalability of SQL Server environment(s)
- Provide timely support of SQL Server environment(s), including afterhours for those critical SQL Server instances.
- Participate in the support of dependent Microsoft servers, enterprise storage and network fabric.
- Develop PowerShell scripts to automate routine tasks.
- Administer data access in Azure.
- Off-hours support as needed.
Candidate Requirements:
- 3+ years administering Microsoft SQL Server environment(s) up to and including v2019 Standard.
- 2+ years administering performance tuning and optimization of SQL Server environments.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server SSRS, SSAS, SSIS and SQL Server Failover Clusters.
- Knowledge of Microsoft OS, clustering, enterprise storage and network fabric.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Experience with Kerberos authentication, delegation, and associated certificate management.
- Experience with automated backup & recovery solutions; Veeam, Avamar, etc.
- Experience in physical & logical database modeling, including database schema, stored procedures, triggers.
- Knowledge of SQL Server and NOSQL databases and security in the Azure environment.
