- Review and interpret Business Requirements to develop high-quality SQL queries and code that meet business needs
- Execute Test Scripts and stored procedures for newly developed functionality
- Research data required to properly execute queries
- Analyze existing SQL queries for performance efficiency and accuracy
- Audit query output and results and effectively communicate to business groups
- Support business units with SQL and development support as needed; Escalate issues or concerns as necessary
- Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations requiring advanced analytical and quantitative skills
- Make recommendations to drive company business decisions and outcomes
- Assist in the development of reporting solutions leveraging SQL queries and data knowledge
- Work in a controlled environment to mitigate risk and provide accurate and timely results by following controlled development and validation processes
Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure query business requirements, structure, output, and approvals are captured and stored for audit and review
- Partner with other teams to develop and maintain relationships by engaging stakeholders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus and achieve objectives as required
- Investigate exceptions and errors with regard to business processes to identify root cause and solutions
- Assist in identify and/or resolve risk and controls issues impacting the business, including conducting control reviews or gap analyses for existing processes, as needed
- Review and analyze transactions and processes for compliance with regulatory requirements
- Coordinate and collaborate with various functions / departments and project teams across multiple locations
- Partner with other teams to develop and maintain relationships by engaging stakeholders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus and achieve objectives
- Design/re-design for continuous improvement using Agile, Lean & Six Sigma principles and methods
Skills and qualifications
- Bachelors degree and/ or equivalent work experience
- Relevant Financial Industry experience
- 3+ years of relevant SQL development experience
- Sense of ownership and pride in performance
- Strong analytical skills
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Highly motivated, energetic, personable, thorough, detail oriented, and ability to multitask
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Team player with the ability to work independently
- Excellent time-management and prioritization skills
