Position Title Sr. Administrative Assistant PIN 205000 Classification Summary
This class is the seventh level in the Administrative Support series. Incumbents provide critical administrative support to a top administration position. Responsibilities may include providing administrative support to top administration positions per request; performing research for strategic division planning; providing accurate information during high-impact and risk situations; monitoring budgets, accounts, billings, and/or expenditures; preparing financial and/or statistical reports; and determining priority items for supervisor.
The Senior Administrative Assistant is distinguished from the Administrative Assistant in that the former performs more complicated coordinating or researching duties, such as conducting independent research for division programs and strategic planning, and coordinating all aspects of assigned events. The Senior Administrative Assistant has wider scope in terms of providing support to strategic planning and management.
Minimum Education and/or Training and Experience
Associate's degree and four years progressive experience providing administrative services.

1. Perform a variety of administrative support activities and duties, including maintaining files and records for assigned area of responsibility, developing and typing correspondence and reports, assisting telephone callers and office visitors, and maintaining databases. (B2)
2. Manage administrative support activities within the department, including communications, budgeting, workflow, media inquiries, public inquiries, and/or other related information. (B2)
3. Prepare confidential correspondence, memos, letters, reports, contracts, etc. (B2)
4. Prepare, maintain, and create various schedules, calendars, and/or events for executive staff. (B2)
5. Coordinate all aspects of assigned special events. (B2)
6. Attend a variety of meetings in support of executive in assigned area of responsibility, to include recording meeting minutes; preparing and disseminating minutes; and/or, performing other related activities. (B2)
7. Coordinate with internal and/or external personnel, departments, and agencies to communicate information, respond to requests, serve as a liaison, provide assistance, and facilitate departmental operations. (B2)
8. Perform other related duties of a comparable level/type as assigned.
