The Sr. Associate, Solution Architecture provides and recommends road maps, principles, standards, and best practices for implementation. S/he is responsible for enabling the business and IT leaders to make investment decisions that balance and prioritize current operational demands, disruptions, and opportunities with the strategic vision of the organization.

Serves as a technical leader and advocate to incorporate best practices and compliance of the technology standards defined by Santander. Analyzes business requirements and produce comprehensive architecture solutions designs that satisfy functional and non-functional requirements. Works closely with various teams including product, platforms, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions are aligned with the organization enterprise architecture and strategic goals.

Oversee the implementation of the technology solutions, ensuring they meet regulatory standards and best practices.

Designs, analyzes, and supports the company's information technology structure, systems, and processes. Acquires, designs, implements, and operates the company's information technology resources (e.g., computer hardware, operating systems, communications, software applications, data, databases, etc.). Deploys, acquires, maintains, and ensures security of information technology assets. Plans and tests processes to ensure compliance with system requirements, business objectives, security standards and additional policies. .

Designs, plans, and governs strategic and cross-organizational optimization of the company's systems, processes, or components to deliver an architecture that supports the most efficient and secure IT environment meeting the company's business needs. Works with stakeholders to build a holistic view of the company's IT strategy, processes, information, and information technology assets. Ensures that the business and IT are in alignment by linking the business mission, strategy, and processes to IT strategy, and documents this using architectural models or views that show how the company's current and future IT needs will be met in an efficient, sustainable, agile, and adaptable manner.

Essential Functions/Responsibility Statements:

  • Develop Solutions designs following the patterns defined by the Santander Group using the corresponding published formats.
  • Document any new patterns required by the assigned project.
  • Reviews existing business processes and establishes metrics to improve business processes, as well as support of all architectural disciplines under their direction.
  • Shares best practices, lessons learned and constantly updates the technical system architecture requirements based on changing technologies, and knowledge related to recent, current, and upcoming vendor products and solutions.
  • Develops a roadmap for the evolution of the enterprise applications or platforms.
  • Consults with application and infrastructure development projects to fit systems or infrastructure to architecture and identify when it is necessary to modify projects to accommodate the solutions architecture.
  • Collaborates with project management and IT Leaders to get the architecture approval across the project lifecycle.
  • Analyzes current information technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
  • Acts as a liaison between lines of business and IT to assist with identifying and resolving issues associated with systems and projects.
  • Anticipates future business challenges and recommends innovative technology solutions and options to senior leadership.

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience: Computer Management, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, System Analysis or an equivalent field.

Work Experience:

  • 10+ Years Information Technology or a related field. Req
  • Finance industry knowledge is a plus.

Technical Skills and Abilities:

  • Multidisciplinary IT Knowledge: Infrastructure, Networking, Database, Software, Development and Security
  • Cloud Computing: Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure is a plus)
  • Containers: (Docker Containers, Openshift is a plus)
  • Software Design: Software Design Patterns, C4 Architecture Diagraming. Visio and PowerPoint presentation skills.
  • Security: IT Security Management (NIST Cybersecurity).
  • Familiarity with common integration technologies (Events, Message Queues, Webservices, APIs, ETLs)
  • Ability to research emerging technologies and ability to drive POCs and prototypes.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
