  • Responsible for identifying opportunities for improving Business Intelligence Solutions
  • Works on complex projects/teams and acts as a mentor and lead to other Analysts
  • Lead liaison between business units and IT departments to translate business needs and objectives into Business Information solutions
  • Create user stories and write acceptance criteria
  • Identify Data Sources, calculated measures, and other transformations (lookups)
  • Establish processes and automation for the enterprise-grade Data & BI platform
  • Develop source to target mapping documentation
  • Deliver Business Requirements for the consumption layer (Datamart, etc.)
  • Serve as a lead for Data Q&A - liaison between business, developers, and other technical teams
  • Provide data and analytics support (i.e., SQL queries, Alteryx workflows, Tableau, PowerBI reports and dashboards)
  • Perform functional testing and data validation
  • Develop and execute testing plans, scenarios and validate data accuracy
  • Test data services (data pipelines, APIs) that feed downstream requirements (Dashboards, Models, etc.) to ensure that the data transferred correctly to the client application tools
  • Liaison with Data Governance team regarding the data catalog
  • Lead and participate in user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Ensure Security, Governance, Enterprise Architecture guidance and protocols are adhered
  • Communicate progress, risks, and issues to the project teamOutcomes:Following are some of the key deliverables expected from this role:
    • Functional requirements documents (BRD) - with business requirements, dashboards and views, calculated measures, algorithmic inputs, SLAs, etc.
    • Source to Target mapping documents
    • Technical specifications documents (TSD) - with architecture, data dictionary definitions, data model specifications, wireframes, computations/formulae for calculated measures, etc.
    • Test strategy, test plan and test cases for testing and data validation
    • Create data testing/validation scripts/Alteryx workflows
    • Produce operational support documentation (and runbooks with dev team's help)
    • Produce release notes/documentation
    • Create documentation for change control.
    • Provide end-user adoption support
    • Other project documentation and artifacts as defined and assigned by Project Manager or Data & BI leadershipKey Tools/Technologies:
      • SQL and other relational database concepts and languages required
      • Alteryx
      • Tableau
      • Power BI
      • Python
      • SQL Server Management Studio
      • Azure Synapse
      • Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint
      • Data ingestion/ETL tools such as Informatica, SSIS, Matillion, Talend, etc.
      • Data warehouses, Data Lakes, and other data products such as Snowflake, Databricks, etc.
      • Finance/Fintech applications, systems, processes and best practicesWhat makes you a good fit:
        • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, IT, Business or equivalent work or educational experience required.
        • Minimum 7 years of experience in a related position working with data management solutions.
        • Experience as Data/Business Intelligence Power User and Data Consumer required.
        • Strong demonstrated experience acting as a business liaison and delivering both strategic and operational solutions to technical teams required.
        • Experience owning, supporting and delivering the full data life cycle development and its various phases required.
        • Advanced level knowledge of SQL and Data Modeling for SQL and NoSQL Repositories required.
        • Advanced level knowledge of data manipulation languages and tools such as Python, Alteryx etc. preferred.
        • Advanced knowledge of multiple business intelligence and data discovery tool such as Tableau, Alteryx or Power BI required.
        • Understanding of Cloud Computing required.
        • Understanding of data engineering vocabulary and data architecture. Includes experience working with Azure, DataOps, JIRA or other Agile development team tools required.
