About Polished Geek

Polished Geek is a boutique consulting agency dedicated to guiding clients from operational chaos into operational excellence. Our team utilizes skills in Lean Six Sigma business process engineering, software integration, and change management and blends them with expert monday․com knowledge to assist clients in monday․com implementation, integration, onboarding, training, and support. In 2023, Polished Geek was awarded Partner of the Year for North America and we've been continuing to grow and exceed our targets in 2024.

The Polished Geek team is 100% remote and based in Sanford, NC. Our team members are located in multiple countries, including the United States plus Guatemala, Argentina, UAE and the Philippines. The majority of our clients are in the United States, with an occasional client in the UK, Canada, and other worldwide locations. Our team prides itself on providing high quality services and genuine care for the success of each and every client. We're a flexible organization where initiative is welcomed, and employees are encouraged to grow their roles in the direction(s) that most interest and challenge them.

Our tech stack beyond monday․com includes Make, Zapier, Slack, Zoom and Miro plus a huge variety of external client systems.

The Polished Geek Brand is:

  • Authentically Geeky
  • Relentlessly Curious
  • Fearlessly Transparent
  • Collectively Powered

About the Role

Important: This role requires 1 year or more of monday․com ‍implementation experience, plus consulting or professional services experience and a solid background in business operations in multiple functional areas (project management/PMO, HR, marketing, production, etc.)

As a Polished Geek consultant, you will lead client projects daily via live collaborative meetings on Zoom. You will lead your consulting team to develop and deliver solutions that fit each client's needs with a blend of collaborative consulting, process improvement, business process engineering, integration, training and support to achieve the client's desired business impact with the monday․com platform.

You will enjoy both independence and the support of your team members in providing the premium level of consulting services our clients expect. You will be responsible for end to end client engagements, from initial goal setting and discovery to final handover, delivery and onboarding of a robust and scalable solution.

You will also be responsible for achieving high client satisfaction with monday․com and Polished Geek as their partner. Where possible, you will also act upon new opportunities to upgrade and/or expand our established clients' usage of monday across their organizations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading implementation projects with our clientele, as well as performing work management enhancement and optimization, with high levels of customer satisfaction and a focus on relationship-building and client retention
  • Lead client process discussions, analysis and process mapping workshops
  • Project manage your client projects and relationships with 90%+ satisfaction rate or higher
  • Identify process optimization opportunities and provide hands-on leadership to migrate existing client processes into monday․com
  • Apply deep business acumen and experience to monday solution designs for clients
  • Design and implement proof-of-concept solutions in monday․com for boards, automations, dashboards and workflows
  • Perform customized demos of the monday․com platform and products for prospective clients
  • Analyze available monday․com Marketplace Apps for alignment with client requirements, test and implement selected solutions
  • Integrate other systems with monday․com using Make or Zapier as middleware
  • Create custom training and onboarding materials for the solutions you build, and deliver personalized training sessions with clients
  • Mentor and provide leadership to Polished Geek junior consultants and support staff
  • Work with the sales team to prepare pitches to your assigned clients for additional phases of work

The Right Fit

This may be a great fit for you if you are someone who:

  • Loves working live (remotely) with clients to help them solve business problems and optimize their project management, process management and collaboration.
  • Enjoys learning about many different industries and verticals, from financial services to marketing, from HR to eCommerce.
  • Is particularly good at analyzing and figuring out how to use almost any system or application by getting your hands dirty and digging in.
  • Enjoys constantly learning and being challenged to apply your knowledge to new situations and business problems.
  • Has abundant patience to work with clients of all different skill and experience levels, while also having a sense of urgency to get. things. done.
  • Can explain technical things to non-geeks without jargon. And vice versa - you can explain business requirements to techies.
  • You find logical process flows a fun puzzle to be solved.
  • You might not love writing user documentation, but by golly, you do an awesome job of it anyway.
  • Is comfortable creating short instructional videos and tutorials for systems and platforms.
  • Has an excellent command of written and spoken English. Since almost all of our consulting is done live, you must be able to communicate fluently and comfortably with our USA-based clientele.
  • Loves learning about new systems and keeping up with the latest changes and new features.
  • Has high ethical standards and you work to establish and maintain trust with clients, partners and teammates.
  • You have a background in operations or production roles, and/or business consulting experience, with a history of increasing responsibility.
  • You believe in looking out for a client's best interest first and foremost (even if it's not what they want to hear).
  • You are enthusiastic, energetic and passionate about learning and constantly evolving your knowledge and expertise.
  • Lean Six Sigma or Agile Project Management expertise are great to have, but not required

Employment Structure

  • Salaried, full time position, dependent on candidate experience and skills, with some adjustment for location.
  • Direct hire W2 employee (probation period of 90 days)
  • Eligible for profit sharing participation after one year
  • Generous training and development time each week
  • Home office internet reimbursement
  • 2 weeks paid vacation each year for first 2 years, then 3 weeks paid vacation after that
  • Moderately flexible hours within USA mainland timezones
  • 100% remote work
  • Note that due to our geographically diverse employment structure, we do not offer any healthcare or retirement benefits currently to staff located in the United States.

How to Apply

Our Application Process has several phases and therefore only motivated and serious applicants should apply:

1) Applicants of interest will be contacted for a short phone call first to discuss the role and learn more about what a lead consultant's day is like at Polished Geek. You are encouraged to ask questions during this first step about the company, the role, benefits, etc.

2) Next, you will be asked to complete a screening case study to evaluate how you approach analyzing business problems and ask questions

3) A group interview on Zoom for culture fit with our team

4) You will be asked to complete a somewhat challenging monday․com ‍buildout exercise from a case study. We are not looking for technical perfection, but rather your demonstrated understanding of a pseudo client's business workflow, organizational handoffs and process exceptions.

5) Lastly, a final teaching interview on Zoom where you demonstrate your ability to teach technical concepts

To begin the application process, please submit your resume via LinkedIn, along with a note describing your specific interest in this role and why you see this position as a growth opportunity for you.

If you are selected to begin the candidate process, we will be in touch shortly to schedule our first call with you.
