Job Description:

As a Senior Communications Specialist in the Church History Department, Audience Needs Division, the purpose of this role is to help God's children make and keep sacred covenants by developing and delivering tailored communications that connect diverse audiences to the Church's historical records and resources.

This role supports the department's mission by effectively sharing the record of His Church and its people, ensuring remembrance of God's hand in their lives, and witnessing to the truths of the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Through inspired storytelling and strategic communication, the Senior Communications Specialist fosters engagement, understanding, and faith in alignment with the department's sacred mission.

* Invite (30%) - Craft compelling communications, presentations, and proposals that motivate engagement with Church History Department initiatives. Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to create materials that align with the department's mission to collect, preserve, and share the history of the Church and its people.

* Engage (20%) - Create informative communication pieces for events that support the Church History Department.

* Workforce Culture (15%) - Coordinate department meetings and devotionals, manage logistics and awareness, organize staff learning opportunities, assist with department socials and celebrations.

* Report (15%) - Develop impactful reports and updates that highlight the progress and outcomes of Church History Department projects. Provide clear, meaningful updates to stakeholders

* Media Relations (10%) - Coordinate all press-related activities, manage press inquiries, arrange press conferences, and support press events.

* Awareness (10%) - Teach the significance of Church history and its preservation by developing communication and marketing materials that educate and inspire.

Required:

* Bachelor's degree and 4 years compatible professional experience in communications or related field, or any combination of equivalent relevant education and/or experience

* Proficiency with basic computer hardware/software, including the ability to use and learn job specific applications

* Excellent writing skills and a sound knowledge of print and electronic communications, including proficiency with computer and software tools (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite, and other design tools, etc.) including a sound understanding of graphic design.

* The ability to manage multiple projects effectively and efficiently with diplomacy

* A demonstrated ability to provide an exceptional level of customer service to stakeholders.

* Outstanding time management and organizational skills including a proven ability to follow-through with fine details

* Excellent problem-solving skills, innovative thinking, and proven capacity to be self-motivated while positively inviting others to strive for their best performance

* Professional in demeanor, appearance and language, with English verbal/written communication skills, including the ability to provide appropriate direction and receive and act upon feedback in a timely manner

* Adaptable to change and a willingness to collaborate within and across teams ability to travel and interact with individuals in a variety of locations

* The ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.

* Must be able to set or stand for long periods of time, repetitive motion for filing, typing, and capacity to lift and carry 20-30lbs.

* Ability to physically fulfill logistical needs during events support (delivery and setup of sometimes heavy materials, sign age, audiovisual support, etc.); ability to be physically available (on-site for preparation, production, and/or performance) of engagement activities and team collaboration as needed.

Preferred:

* Advanced degree (e.g. MBA, MPA, etc.) and/or extensive experience in creating marketing communications
