DescriptionESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (not limited to)•Creates working cells, with robotics and controls, to provide proof of concept models that can provide justification of future development. •Design and build small automation equipment that will improve safety, quality, and productivity of our current mfg. processes. •Justify equipment and future automation needs with ROI metrics for large capital projects. •Work with the MFG. Engineering team to develop in-house automation and fixtures. •Recommend and implement improvements or modifications for manufacturing processes, equipment utilization, and related matters.•Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements.•Confer with other engineers to clarify and resolve problems.•Investigate and resolve work-in-process problems.•Responsible for supporting PM activity on production lines.•Create Sequence of operations, Control schematics, and Control operations layouts for automating manual equipment.•Creates a bill of material for cost estimates on major projects.•Write PLC, HMI, PC and other programs using applicable software.•Provides technical support to the manufacturing team for applicable processes.•Support other facilities in the Wausau family as needed (travel up to 15% of the time)DEMONSTRATE:•A fundamental understanding of Controls, Problem Solving Skills, and Manufacturing Processes •Must have the ability to work both alone and in a group •Ability to manage multiple demands while maintaining solid communication skills both verbally and especially by e-mail•Ability to maintain positive moral within the workforce•Enthusiasm and have a positive approach to problem-solving•Experience with logics 5,000 - Allen Bradley controls. •Experience with Siemans controls, Indra-Works. •Experience Beckhoff software. •Experience with IRC5 software for ABB robots.•General working knowledge of PLC, HMI, and PC based control hardware and software•Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical, and 3D CAD software.•Working knowledge of NFPA 70, National Electric Code, NFPA 79EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:•Bachelor's degree in engineering, electrical, controls, or mechanical engineering or 10 years of related experience.•Associates degree in automation and controls. •Technical proficiency within software applications.
